KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCKING ON THE DOOR
The weekend of November 6th had our Cyclones participating in the Shanahan tournament in Toronto. Leaving 0-4 was not indicative of the effort and compete our Cyclones displayed every game...the record could just have easily read 3-1. The team continues game in and game out to show improvement, knocking and knocking on the proverbial win door and sooner or later they're going to stop knocking and just plain old crash on through it.

GAME #1 WATERLOO-- LATE 3RD PERIOD LEAD SLIPS AWAYDespite falling behind early 2-0, our Cyclones fought and clawed storming back with 2 quick strikes midway though the 2nd period to tie things at 2 heading into the third. Lucas Laprise from Cole Labadie started things at the 6:50 market followed by Justin Ewald on the PP at 4:35. Aidan Edwards from Josh Hazzard at 11:10 of the 3rd would give the Cyclones their first lead of the tournament which they would hold until 4 consecutive penalites would seal our Cyclones fate. Waterloo would eventually capitalize on the 4th try and then again late to steal a victory. Lucas Laprise took home the Hardest Worker hard hat award.

GAME #2 -- BURLINGTON EAGLES -- CYCLONES RUN OUT OF FUEL

In their 2nd game of the tournament our Cyclones stormed out to a 5-2 lead early in the 2nd period but could not keep a hard charging Eagles team at bay eventually running out of fuel and falling 9-5. Laprise from Abby Stonehouse, followed by Owen Campbell on an unassisted breakaway and then Aidan Edwards from Justin Ewald would give the Cyclones a 3-2 lead after 1. Ewald unassisted and Cole Labadie from Josh Hazzard and Stonehouse would produce the 5-2 lead before the Eagles would steal momentum the Cyclones would never regain.

GAME #3 -- PETEROROUGH PETES -- CYCLONES FALL 5-3 IN HARD FOUGHT BATTLE

Again, our Cyclones came with their hard hats and lunch pails and put forth a tremendous battle against the Petes, but just couldn't pull it out in the end. Gavin Meriano unassisted would stake the Cyclones to the early 1-0 lead, but it was short lived as the Petes roared down the ice off the faceoff to quickly tie things at 1. The Petes would take the lead with seconds left in the first, but Aidan Edwards make it known these Cyclones were not going away. He would reply on the PP on the first shift of the 2nd to knot it up at 2 until Braeden Jones would give the Cyclones the lead 3-2 until a Petes late tally would send them to the 3rd all square. Despite their strong third period efforts the Cyclones could not find any more offense to answer the Petes' 2 3rd period goals and would fall 5-3. Abby Stonehouse would take home the Hardest Worker hard hat award.

GAME #4 -- TORONTO MARLIES.....

Justin Ewald, capping off a strong 4 game weekend would take home the Hardest Worker Hard Hat award...and our Cyclones will wait another day to tackle Goliath.
