Team White Wins!!!!!!!!
Coach Anderson caught all the action on Sunday and captured it in this amazing article

The Memorial Arena was jam packed this past weekend when Team Black hosted Team White in what proved to be full of excitement, controversy and heated exchanges between these two juggernauts.

With stand-on-their-head goaltending clinics on display, at both ends of the ice, Travis “Cookie” DeCook put on a text book hockey scoring clinic of his own.  The game’s first goal started with DeCook blocking a Point shot, which resulted in a hot pursuit foot race and a drop-the-shoulder puck protection approach to net, where Cookie opened the scoring for this 4-game Battle Royale.  Team Black’s, Colin “BlockingMachine” Stevenson somehow found a brilliant pass from Cam “Firecracker” Arnold, who had found his own Mojo, and had the game of his young life. Stevenson found his balance with a Crosby type 1-knee-1-timer to cement the game for Team Black, which ended in 2-0 final score.

Game 2 was a 3v3 format play that was dominated by Team White. Scoring opened with “Sweet Mitts” Paxton Mather picking up his own rebound with a top shelf beauty. Brighton Anderson picked up the assist.  Team White’s Brighton “Bo” Anderson, a cousin to Greasy wheels who was sent down to the Minors, had chemistry with Sweet Mitts Mather and Tiago “T-Rex” Rolo who ran a perfect Triangle Offence play. T-Rex buried the biscuit to clinch a Team White victory.

Game 3 scoring opened with Jake “Corny” Corneil going to his Top Shelf signature classic attack, from the low slot region where he was all alone to gain the 1-0 Team White lead.  Team White followed up with Landon Hillsy Hill finding the seam for a finesse pass to Dancin Rance Soney, who looked like he was teaching a chaos drill through Team Black defenders, before he went 5-hole to put Team White up by 2.

The final match of the day saw Team White open the scoring, as Brighton Anderson threw a pass up the boards through traffic to Alex “Jets” Cassey who somehow found the pass and unselfishly gave it back to Anderson, who went right back to trusty and flying Cassey. “Jets” Cassey entered Team Black Territory doing Mach3, before lighting the lamp. Not to be out done, and never finished, Big Emmett Mather somehow barrelled his way through Team White with paradoxical delicate-precision of a veteran surgeon, and sniped a beauty cross-seam, with a top shelf laser beam of a goal. Will “sweet haircut” Redford got the apple. With time running out, controversy hit Memorial when Team Black appeared to successfully defend their goal line and a late Official’s whistle opened the door for a jamming Corny Corneil, who pitch-forked his way to glory for a Team White, Covid Cup winning victory.

A call into Toronto for review proved futile and Team White hoisted the COVID cup while Team Black remained stunned by the dramatic finish.  Coach Shawn will thankfully be back next game, and will take back the reigns on covering the story for the next barn burning Covid Cup Series

Best,
Jody
