Team Black captures the Cup!
Team White and Team Black faced off at the nostalgic Memorial Arena on a gorgeous Saturday Afternoon.

The boys were pumped to be back at it Saturday. While the Zamboni was finishing the last few laps the boys legs were bouncing and the excitement and anticipation was growing in the hallway.

The first game started with a serious pace. Those in attendance watched back and forth action however Big Game Beeker and Downtown Brown were on point early and often. Save after save whether it be with a flashy glove or kicking out the pads, the players struggled to get anything past the two studs. It wasn't until the half way point of the game when finally Team Black got on the board. Curdog Currie, parked on the side of the net, was able to slide home a rebound after Boom Boom Rolo hammered a clapper from the point. That proved to be the only tally of the game as Big Game Beeker shutout Team White.

Game 2 was much of the same. The boys were flying, making plays and the pace remained intense. Goalies stayed motivated in keeping the pucks out of their nets. However, it was Team Black taking the lead again. Curdog on his strong side, was able to freeze Downtown Brown and feathered a beauty backdoor pass to Greasy Wheelz Anderson who tapped home his first of the day. Team White fought back hard and fired several biscuits toward Big Game Beeker, but to no avail. Row, shut the door and Team Black took a 2-0 lead on the day.

After a quick pause, the puck was dropped for game three. Team White finally solved Big Game Beeker as Cobra Cassey slipped the puck over to his backhand and made a wonderful move sliding the puck through the five hole. Riding that momentum Team White struck again. Dancin Rance Soney and Bam Bam Cam came down on a 2 on 1. Bam Bam made the smart decision and fired a low shot far pad, causing the rebound to come out into the slot and Dancin Rance buried the rebound. With time winding down, Team Black found themselves on the PP and Curdog fired home a twisted wrister cutting the lead in half. However Downtown Brown locked it down and Team White had some life and a chance to raise the cup.

The boys came out flying in game realizing what was at stake. Team White struck first, riding the momentum they had gained from their previous victory. Bam Bam Cam buried his first of the day after the Bruiser Brody Hope made a nifty pass from behind the net to a wide open Arnold. After off setting minor penalties were given out Greasy Wheelz Anderson tied the game as he streaked down the ice let go a wrister that was deflected and went over Ryder's head landing ever so gently into the back of the net. Teams continued to work and battle all over the ice and each member of the crowd was now standing, holding their breath. Team Black took the lead as The Big Easy Emmett Mather found himself with the puck and a little room at the top of the circles. Emmett fired a well placed wrister along the ice far side and the bench for Team Black exploded with Joy.
As time ticked away Team Black held team White to the outside, not giving them a sniff of the net or a decent opportunity to tie things up. Buzzer sounded and Team Black found themselves celebrating a championship.

Boys will continue to hone their skills in the next couple weeks, getting themselves ready to do battle once again.
