Series #3 Underway!!!!
Series number 3 started in a tie...….

Well both teams came out yesterday with some hop in their step and ready to play. Goaltenders were up to the challenge however making many key stops early not letting either team get the advantage. Big Willy Stylez got the scoring started,  from yep you guessed, on the backdoor tapping his stick and sliding one past Downtown Brown to give Team Black the lead. Soon after it was Greasy Wheelz Anderson picking up the puck in the neutral zone and like a man possessed danced through Team Black with many side steps and buried to tie things up. Team Black jumped back into the lead when Slick Stick Stevenson went short side shelf in tight that made everyone in the rink let out a "wow". Team White tried everything to get back into the game including pulling the goalie however Big Game Beeker stood on his head. The Big Easy Emmett Mather finished things off with an empty netter from one goal line to the other and Team Black started the day off with a victory.
Game 2 stayed heated and the battle level remained high. Scoring started with Team White down a man. However it wasn't the power play for Team Black that was doing the damage.  Greasy Wheelz continued to buzz and was able to put Team White on the board first with a shorty.  Team White wasn't about to sit back however and it was Speedy Gonzalez Riediger dicing through his opponents and a slick little forehand to backhand move tied the game up. Game play continued at feverish pace and old Sweet Mitts Hill let a bomb go short side top Coco to give Team White the lead. Downtown Brown remained composed and shut the door to give Team White the win and tied the day 1-1.
Back to 4 on 4 play for game #3 which saw a few penalties and an intense effort from both sides. Scoring started with Slick Stick Stevenson getting a gift from Team White after they turned the puck over in their own end and making no mistake about it Team Black was up 1-0. Team Black continued to put the pressure on, sorted out the PP and The Big Easy Emmett found Curdog Currie back door to extend their lead. Team White tried everything but couldn't solve Big Game Beeker as he was up to the task turning everything aside earning the shutout which put Team Black up 2-1 on the day.
Final game of the day, back to 3 on 3 hockey and Team Black had a little swagger thinking they were going to take an early lead in this series.  Curdog Currie got the scoring started with a nice little move out of the corner.  As he walked around the top of the left faceoff dot Curdog fired a wrister top glove that tickled the twine and gave Team Black the early lead.  However this lead didn't last long and Dirty Dangles Driedger decided he was getting in on the scoring with his own little snapper beating Big Game Beeker on the short side post and in. Team White thought they took the lead when Dirty Dangles Driedger believed he had slid one through the five hole however after further review and a call into the war room it was decided it was inconclusive as to whether it had crossed the goal line entirely and the game remained tied. The decision didn't stagger Team White however and as they got on the power play they took advantage.  Greasy Wheelz made a few little moves in the corner and found Dancin Rance Soney backdoor for a tap in. Team White held on to a 2-1 victory and the day remained deadlocked in a tie.
With a couple minutes left on the big clock teams turned to 2 vs 2 play. Each team had their chance to steal the day but Downtown Brown and Big Game Beeker stood tall like  they had all day long.
First game is a tie. Back at it next Sunday at the nostalgic Memorial arena in Chatham.
