Minor Bantams reach Semi Finals at Hamilton Bull Dogs Tournament
Minor Bantams go undefeated until Semi Finals at the 2011 Hamilton Bull Dogs Classic Tournament.

The Minor Bantams would open up the Tournament on Friday December 2 with a game verse the Toronto Nationals. The game would start slow for the cyclones and see the Nats jump out to a 1 - 0 lead after the first period. The boys would fight back in the second with Brendan Harrogate scoring from Patrick Wright and Kyle Dawson. Nick Delyzer and Harrogate would each score unassisted to bring the cyclone tally to three. The Nats would also score two in the second to knot things up at three. The third would see no further scoring and the first game of the weekend would end in a tie.

Game two later that afternoon would see the Minor Bantams face off verse the Niagara North Stars. This match up would prove to be the most entertaining of the weekend from the arena itself to the outcome of the game. There would be no scoring in the first period. Brendan Harrogate would open the scoring for Chatham as he was taken down and slid into the opposing net. To the demise of the opposing fans the refs would count this as a goal. The North Stars would get one back before the period ended. The game would end in a 1 - 1 tie but not with out the North Stars flicking a harmless wrist shot from center ice that would bounce in the Cyclone net just after the buzzer. This would once again would send the fans into a tizzy.

Game 1 on Saturday would see the Cyclones play the Rochester Monarchs and skate away with a 4 - 2 Win. Scoring for Chatham was Kyle Fife, Ross Krieger and two from Nick Delyzer. Helpers came from Brady Pataki, Brendan Harrogate, Derek Hueni, Krieger and Phillip Clarke.

Game 2 Saturday night would be a back and forth game with the Toronto Titans that would end in a 9 - 6 win for Chatham. Scoring for Chatham were Harrogate (4), Pataki (2), Krieger (2) and Delyzer with one. Helpers came from Fife, Pataki, Van Rycheghem, Clarke and Brower.

This would place the Cyclones as the first wild card and move onto play Sunday morning - a rematch against the Niagara North Stars. This game would also prove to be as interesting but for different reasons. As in the first game the end of regulation play would not solve anything as the sides were tied at 2. Scoring for the Cyclones were Levi Tetrault and Phillip Clarke with helpers from Blair Derynck, Tetrault and Pataki. Being a quarter final game the teams would play a 5 minute overtime three on three which would not solve anything. A five player shoot out would determine who would move onto the semi-finals. Harrogate, Krieger and Delyzer would all bury their shots and Joseph Raaymakers would only allow one goal from the Stars.

In the semi finals the Cyclones would be paired against the Home town Hamilton Bull Dogs. The Bulldogs would have fresh legs as this was their first game of the day and came out flying. The Dogs would win 6 - 1. Scoring for the Cyclones was Brady Pataki assisted by Kyle Dawson and Ben Nicholls. A great weekend for the boys as they played hard all weekend.
