Congratulations on a successful season!!

The Major Atom Cyclones AAA completed a successful season yesterday by sweeping Cambridge to obtain the Playoff championship. The team came out strong with a comanding 2-0 lead after the first but Cambridge did not give up and really took it to the home team in the second.  The Cyclone defense remained poised and displayed brilliant puck movement to break out of their zone effortlessly.  In the end, Stonehouse got a break away short handed and with Cambridge goalie pulled to seal the deal and make it 5-2. It was another chess match in Game 2 Sunday. A Tic-Tack-Toe play on the PP from Bacik to Stonehouse and finally to Veccia made it 1-1 to end the 2nd.  Tre Altiman put up a brick wall in the second half of the game giving the Cyclones a chance to steal on the road.  The Cyclones remained well disciplined throughout this flurry and Cameron Graham gained back the lead in the 3rd.  Relentlessly, Cambridge responded to tie it 2-2.  Now, 4 minutes left and on the PP, Gagner drives the net and Stonehouse bangs it home.  Another exciting finish (1 minute left, draw in Cyclone zone, Cambridge goalie ...

The Cyclones opened the Playoff Finals today with Cambridge at Memorial arena.  Down 1-0 in the second period, Ryan Gagner delivered on a rebound from a point blast by Webster, assisted by Stonehouse.  Tre Altiman was steady in goal and gave the Cyclones the chance to take over this game.  Early in the third, they did on a great individual effort and bounce by Cameron Graham.  In the final minutes, on the penalty kill and faceoff in the Cyclones zone, Cambridge pulled their goalie to make it a 6 on 4.  The draw came to Stonehouse who went for the icing and landed a 3-1 lead.  Some solid ...

A slow start saw the Cyclones down 3-1 mid way through the 2nd period.  But led by Edwards defensively with great puck poise, the Cyclones found ways to break out and get the puck deep to gain the lead in the third. Winning 4-3 and 20 seconds left, Sun County pulled their goalie and tied it up. In OT, Stonehouse and Gagner cycled hard down low and created an opportunity by Webster from the point who sizzled a shot off the crossbar. The puck sat on the goal line for only a second until Stonehouse poked it in.  Goals: Graham x 2, Stonehouse x 2, Holmes x 1.  Assists: Holmes, Veccia x 2, ...
