Shawn Mather

Head Coach Shawn Mather, played his minor hockey in Tilbury. At age 14 played for the Kingsville Comets in the Great Lakes Junior C league. After a year, he joined the Jr. B Leamington flyers. where he played for three years before earning a hockey scholarship to Michigan State University. Following his freshman season at MSU, he joined the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL and was named to the OHL All-star game in 2000. Shawn attended the Boston Bruins training camp in 1999 and Calgary Flames training camp in 2000. Played nine years of professional hockey that included stops in the AHL, ECHL, German Bundesliga 2 and Italian Serie A league. Shawn retired from professional hockey in 2010 and has been a member of the Chatham Kent Cyclones 2009 coaching staff for five seasons. He has instructed at numerous hockey schools over the years and has held camps and skates for junior hockey players looking to climb the ranks. ×
