Chatham Kent U14 Cyclones Buffalo Riverworks Outdoor Classic Champions going undefeated winning 5 games and a tournament Championship. "At times, we did not have our best effort or game but we were able to find a way to dig deep and push through the adversity to win. We dealt with injuries, suspensions, the cold, the snow, delays and the boys stepped up and got the job done. We shut it down defensively when we needed to and when we needed to score we did just that" Said Coach Hope.

The Cyclones started the tournament off on Friday with a 3-1 and 6-2 win and followed that up the next day with a last minute comeback win 5-4 to punch their ticket to the Championship game and then finished off the Round Robin with a 4-1 win. They would play a tight checking game on Sunday in the Championship ultimately coming out with a 1-0 win with a goal from Jackson Benoit on the Powerplay. "It was well deserved by the players. It was pretty emotional for myself watching the kids celebrate and seeing the smiles on their faces and the excitement from the parents as well. Now we turn our focus to 3 big league games this weekend coming up and riding this momentum into those." Stated Coach Hope.

Congratulations to Ashton Dittmer who was named Tournament MVP. "Ashton was great all weekend for us, he was rock solid on the back end and logged a ton of minutes. He scored two huge goals for us in the comeback win on Saturday morning. He has come a long way this year and keeps getting better and better. It could have went to a lot of our players who have stepped up but well deserved by him for sure."

On top of the games, the U14 Cyclones want to Thank Buffalo State University for allowing them to watch practice and giving the families a facility tour before departing on their road trip. It was great for them to see what is all offered at the NCAA level. As well thank you to Pearl Street Grill & Brewery for hosting us on Saturday for a Team Meal. It was a fun-filled weekend for all!
