Minor PeeWee, 2015-2016 (Chatham-Kent Cyclones AAA Hockey Association)

It was do or die on Sunday in Komoka as our Minor PeeWee's were deadlocked in round robin play in this final match up with EMC.  Very early in the Cyclones found themselves down a goal and trailing by two after a power play buzzer beater in the first.  The Cyclones showed some tenacity replying with 2 goals in the second but EMC countered very shortly after that to regain the lead.  A couple more in the third period and the final ended 5-2. In game 3 of playoff round robin action, the Minor PeeWee's came out strong and managed to knock off the Panthers 5-2 at home in Tilbury Friday night. The Cyclones opened the scoring early in the first with an end to end rush by Alec Webster unassisted. The scoring continued from there with markers by Graham, Tinline, Gagner and Jack. Assists came from Stonehouse, Veccia, Holmes, MCalpine and Webster. Final deciding game is Sunday in Komoka vs EMC and the winner will advance to the final series in either Waterloo or Cambridge.  TBD.

The Minor PeeWee's met EMC in game 2 of their round robin playoff pool on Saturday in a tight match.  Scoreless after one period, EMC opened scoring early in the second and held a 3-1 lead early in the third. A definite turning point in the game happened late in the second when the puck landed on a wide open EMC player in the slot with a gapping net available only to be denied by the flash of Tre Altiman's leather glove.  The Cyclones began their comeback and even after Overtime, the game ended 3-3. The Minor PeeWee's entered into the first round robin play Friday night in Essex with a solid 6-1 victory against Sun County.  Scoring was 0-0 after the first period but steadily the Cyclones picked away at taking control of the game. Scoring was provided by: - MCalpine from Bacik - Stonehouse unassisted on a short handed effort - Tinline from Jack and Graham - Ewald from Gagner and Holmes - Graham from Edwards and Stonehouse - Blain from MCalpine Next game is in Chatham Saturday against EMC who is the other team in this round robin play.

In game 3 of this six point series Monday night in Bothwell, the Minor PeeWee's needed to pull out a win in order to continue after two loses up in London to open the series.  Down again after the first period 1-0 after a flurry of scoring chances against, the Cyclones tried to get their offense going in the second but continued to struggle to gain puck possession and went into the third period down 4-1.  The game progressed with desperation from there and the final was a loss 6-2.
