Joseph Raaymakers

Joseph Raaymakers, a native of Chatham, ON, began goaltending at age 7 and joined the Chatham-Kent Cyclones AAA in Major Atom (U11). His early accomplishments included participation in the 2013 NHLPA Allstate All Canadians National Mentorship Camp, the OHL Cup, and the OHL Gold Cup.

In 2014, Joseph was selected 37th overall in the 2nd round of the OHL Draft by the Soo Greyhounds, where he played three seasons (2014–2017). He was then traded to the London Knights, finishing his final two OHL seasons there (2017–2019). Joseph ended his OHL career ranked 3rd all-time in wins with 109.

During his junior years, Joseph attended the NHL Combine and NHL camps with four different teams, including an exhibition game appearance with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He also joined the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones to close out the 2018 season.

Joseph went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics with Honours and a Bachelor of Education from St. Francis Xavier University (StFX). While at StFX, he played four seasons, won bronze at the U Sports National Championship, and received numerous academic honours—including being a four-time U Sports Academic All-Canadian, recipient of the Athletic Director’s Award for Academic Achievement, the Leader of Distinction Award, and the CCUPEKA Leadership Award.

He founded Raaymakers Goalie School in Chatham in 2017 and has been running summer camps ever since. In 2024, he took over Future Pro Goalie School (est. 1992). He now leads summer camps, PD Day clinics, team practices, and private lessons. He is also the current goalie coach of the Chatham Maroons (GOJHL). His coaching background also includes time with Jon Elkin Goalie School and Andrews Hockey Growth Programs.

With a strong blend of elite playing experience, coaching, and academic achievement, Joseph is passionate about helping goaltenders reach their full potential with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones and Future Pro.×
