First off, I want to thank everyone who took the time to bring their child to compete for a roster spot on our Chatham Kent Cyclones U13 Team. I am looking forward to a fun and competitive tryout process.
Players, I want everyone to realize I am looking for 17 kids who are ready to work hard, ready to learn and most importantly be a great teammate. The tryout process will be demanding. All I ask is you show up on time, with all your equipment and ready to give it everything you have and leave it all on the ice each night.
Parents, I realize that this is a very stressful and anxious time. I know you want the best for your child and you do not want to see them disappointed. Unfortunately I only have 17 spots. There will be some good players that won't make this team. Realize that this might just be a bump in the road. Hockey is a marathon, not a sprint and everyone's path is different. All I ask of you is to have your child show up on time, be well rested and fed. Leave the rest up to the coaching staff. Please be respectful to the other players in camp. Do not talk about any other participant other than your own, unless it is in a positive way.
