Oshawa Spirit Challenge
On Jan 11-13 the Bantam Cyclones Traveled to Oshawa for the Oshawa Spirit Challenge.

The Cyclones opened up the tournament with a 1-1 tie against the Ottawa Senators. Brady Pataki got the only goal on an unassisted, shorthanded effort. Joe Raaymakers had a solid game in net.
Game 2 saw the boys matched up against the Upper Canada Cyclones. They proved to be no match for the team as they skated away with a 7-2 win. Ross Krieger and Brendan Harrogate led the way with 2 goals and an assist each. Bradley Maxim added 2 goals and Ben Nicholls opened the scoring with 1 of his own. Pataki, Delyzer and Dawson had 2 assists each while Derynck, Clarke and Wright added singles. Nolan Hakr had a good day between the pipes.
Game 3 saw the Cyclones take on the North Bay Trappers. Brendan Harrogate continued with his hot hand as he scored the first 2 goals. That would prove to be enough as the Cyclones skated away with a 5-1 win. Kyle Dawson, Nick Delyzer and Brady Pataki also scored. Krieger added 2 assists with singles going to Jakubowski, Wright, Clarke, Derynck, Delyzer and Maxim. Raaymakers wasn't overly busy in net but was extremely good when he needed to be.
Game 4 gave the boys a chance to avenge an earlier loss from the Kitchener tournament as they were matched up against the Buffalo Saints. The Saints proved to be no match this time as Nick Delyzer scored on his first 2 shifts to put the Saints in a big hole. Krieger and Pataki were in on both. Pataki had a 3 point night as he added a goal of his own. Harrogate and Maxim had a goal and an assist each while Derynck, Clarke and Fife added an assist each. Nolan Hakr posted the shutout.
Sunday morning brought the Semi Finals against the Eastern Ontario Wild. The Wild opened the scoring early in the 2nd period and never looked back as they skated off with a 4-0 win eliminating the Cyclones. Raaymakers took the loss in net.
