Hello Parents,
I am pleased to announce that with the lifting of the
lockdown and the removal of the stay at home order issued by the province of
Ontario we are now able to resume programming this Saturday February 20th.
Ice times will start to be populated on the Cyclone website by Thursday
evening, your coaches will indicate which ice time your child will attend.
We are very excited to get the kids back on the ice however it will not be entirely the same as when your child last skated. With Chatham-Kent currently being a Red Covid zone our programming will revert back to how we started in the summer. We will have limited #’s of players on the ice, we will be required to maintain physical distancing in all areas of the arena – Hallways, on Ice etc at all times. We will not be able to participate in scrimmages and will only be conducting skill skates. One parent per participant is allowed in the arena during our team ice times. Masks are still required at all times in the arena except during on ice activities.
Once Chatham-Kent is downgraded to Orange or below we will resume normal programming as we were accustomed to, and with any luck, start up some gameplay vs. the Lambton Jr. Sting in early March.
Also use of the dressing rooms are not permitted, we will be allowed in the rink to use benches for changing into skates. Your child will be required to arrive at the rink in as much gear as possible, (Goalies get a little more leeway). Please do not send your child to the rink expecting to change fully in the arena, this will not be acceptable.
I am asking that we all do our part to follow our Public Health Unit guidelines and adhere to all policies laid out by them. This will ensure an easy transition back to the rink which will make the remainder of the season an enjoyable one for everybody.
Thank you,
Jack Brown
